Mit der Herstellung, Verarbeitung und Anwendung von Biokunststoffen befasst sich eine wissenschaftliche Konferenz vom 18. bis 19. September an der Universität Duisburg-Essen. Tagungsleiter Prof. Dr. Johannes Wortberg erwartet mehr als 90 Teilnehmer aus Forschung und Praxis.
Biokunststoffe sind nicht nur sehr leistungsfähig, sondern auch umweltverträglich, weil sie nicht mehr aus erdölbasierten Rohstoffen gewonnen werden. Prof. Wortberg: "An den Biodiesel hat man sich ja fast schön gewöhnt. Im Vormarsch ist jetzt auch die Kunststofffolie, die früher mal eine Rapspflanze war".
Die Tagung begleitet den kompletten Produktionsprozess von der Rohstofferzeugung auf dem Feld über das Fertigprodukt bis hin zur abschließenden Verwertung. Rohstoff- und Maschinenhersteller sowie Verarbeiter diskutieren neue Anwendungsmöglichkeiten, Verarbeitungstechnologien, Produkteigenschaften und Wiederverwertungsfragen.
