Der DAAD, der Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst, speziell der German Academic Exchange Service, fördert den Jahresaufenthalt von zwei Professoren an der Universität Trier:
Prof. Dr. Aleksandr Dulicenko von der Universität Tartu in Estland nimmt vom 15. April 2008 bis zum 28. Februar 2009 eine Gastdozentur wahr, die vom DAAD gefördert wird. Er wird im Fach Slavistik im Fachbereich II, Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaften, unterrichten. Der DAAD unterstützt damit die Internationalisierung der Lehre speziell im Fachbereich II - Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaften.
Eine zweite Gastdozentur von Professorin Dr. Alison Beach vom College of William and Mary/Virginia (USA) fördert der DAAD im Fachbereich III, Mittelalterliche Geschichte. Prof. Beach wird an der Universität Trier vom 1. April 2008 bis zum 31. März 2009 eine Gastprofessur im Fach Mittelalterliche Geschichte wahrnehmen.
