Zum Wintersemester 2008/2009 startet ein neuer Bachelor-Studiengang Kunststofftechnik an der Fachhochschule Südwestfalen in Iserlohn. Wesentliche Elemente des Studiengangs sind die Fertigungsverfahren, Produktgestaltung, Simulation (CAE), Produktionsmanagement, betriebswirtschaftliche Aspekte und Qualitätssicherung. Die praxisorientierte Ausbildung erfolgt unter Einbeziehung des Lüdenscheider-Kunststoff-Instituts, einem An-Institut der Hochschule.
