Die "Rhapsody in Blue" von George Gershwin ist jedem ein Begriff, der Name Ferde Grofé wohl eher weniger. Er hat das Werk orchestriert, und zwar einmal für Symphonieorchester, so wie "man" es kennt, und einmal für Blasorchester.
Letzterer Version hat sich das Symphonische Blasorchester der Universität des Saarlandes (SBUS) unter seinem Dirigenten Frank Hahnhaußen gewidmet. Gemeinsam mit dem Solo-Pianisten Björn Heimann wird das Werk am Mittwoch, 18. Juni 2008 um 19 Uhr in der Aula auf dem Campus Saarbrücken zu hören sein. Außerdem stehen Werke von John Williams, Dimitri Schostakovitch, Johann de Meij und weiteren auf dem Konzertprogramm.
