The production of micro- and nanocomponents is a key to economic success. Japan and Germany hold a worldwide leading position in this area. At the Exhibition Micromachine/MEMS, the largest trade fair for applied microsystems technology in Japan, IVAM Microtechnology Network in cooperation with the Japanese Micromachine Center organizes the Japanese-German Micro/Nano Business Forum on July 30 in Tokyo. The Exhibition Micromachine/MEMS takes place from July 30 to August 1 at Tokyo Big Sight, West Hall 1 & 2.

Companies and institutes such as NanoFocus, Kugler, Matsushita Electric Works, Olympus and the new Fraunhofer Research Institution for Electronic Nano Systems present latest micro- and nanotechnology applications for production. Prof. Dr. Masayoshi Esashi from the Tohoku University in Sendai will focus on new models for open collaboration in the area of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). The Micromachine Center unites the most important microtechnology suppliers and users in Japan from Sony to Panasonic.

IVAM Managing Director Dr. Uwe Kleinkes: "We have been present at Micromachine since more than five years now. Under the roof of IVAM, we offer our members a good platform to be noticed by important Japanese companies."
