Auf der International Cryogenic Engineering Conference in Seoul, Korea, ist Prof. Hans Quack vom Institut für Energietechnik der Fakultät Maschinenwesen der TU Dresden mit der Mendelssohn Medaille ausgezeichnet worden. Dies ist die international höchste Auszeichnung auf dem Gebiet der Kryotechnik, d. h. der Technik tiefer Temperaturen. Die Auszeichnung ist benannt nach dem deutsch-englischen Physiker Kurt Mendelssohn und wird alle zwei Jahre verliehen. Prof. Hans Quack wurde für seine herausragenden Leistungen sowohl in der Forschung als auch in der Lehre geehrt.
