Prof. Dr. Thomas Strothotte, der am 09. Januar 2009 vom Hochschulrat der Universität Regensburg zum neuen Rektor gewählt worden ist, hat die Wahl angenommen.
Die Amtszeit des neuen Rektors beginnt am 01. April 2009 und beträgt acht Semester, eine Wiederwahl ist ohne zeitliche Begrenzung zulässig.
"Ich freue mich auf die vor mir liegenden Aufgaben", erklärte Prof. Dr. Strothotte. "Um mich auf das neue Amt vorzubereiten, habe ich bereits erste Gespräche mit den Fakultäten anberaumt".
