Kanarienvögel, die in ihrer Jugend schlechte Vorsänger hören, singen später trotzdem gut
Viele Singvögel lernen ihren Gesang in den ersten Lebensmonaten von einem Vorbild. Wenn in dieser kritischen Zeit ein geeignetes Modell fehlt, entwickeln die Vögel Gesang, der oft von der arttypischen Struktur abweicht. Kanarienvögel lernen jedoch selbst dann einen recht normalen Gesang, wenn sie in ihrer Jugend einem Tutor ausgesetzt waren, dessen Gesang deutlich von einem normalen Gesangsmuster abwich, wie Wissenschaftler vom Max-Planck-Institut für Ornithologie nun herausgefunden haben.
