In cooperation with the West-Pomeranian Center of Advanced Technologies Szczecin BioCon Valley Mecklenburg-Vorpommern organises the international conference "Polish-German Life Science Forum" taking place on September 24th - 25th, 2009 in Szczecin, Poland. Main focus of the forum is to strengthen cross border cooperation in life science and bio business. Key experts from the region present their newest results, in particular on the topics molecular medicine (diagnostics on cancer, functional genomics), microbiology (bioremediation) and biomaterials.
Satellite workshops with experts from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Italy, Poland, Sweden discuss on progress in technology transfer and regional development in the ScanBalt BioRegion.
A special workshop offers professional training "How to write a successful FP7 proposal". Regional agencies, e.g. Pomerania, present their funding opportunities.
Individual partnering and an industrial exhibition is integral part of the conference.
The conference is dedicated to young and advanced scientists from academia and industry interested in cross border cooperation.
Representatives from the media are welcome to participate!
The project is part of the formal partnership of the German Bundesland Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Polish Wojewodship West Pomerania and official partner of the national strategy "Research in Germany - Land of Ideas". It is supported by the "Internationales Büro" of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
