Frankfurt has been chosen as the location hosting JURE 2010, the Junior Researchers conference for young scientists of the European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI). The conference will be held on the motto "Connecting Diverse Perspectives on Learning and Instruction: A Conference of Synergy" from July 19-22, 2010 on Campus Westend of the Goethe University Frankfurt. The international organisation committee of JURE 2010, which is composed of eight doctoral students from different countries in Europe, includes Jana Höhler from the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF) and Saskia Kistner from the Goethe University, two young researchers from Frankfurt. Furthermore, a local organisation committee has already been set up consisting of doctoral students from the Institute for Educational Psychology and the Center for Teacher Training and School and Instructional Research (ZLF) at the Goethe University as well as from the DIPF: This committee will organise the congress at the local level and is managed by Svenja Vieluf from the DIPF.
The JURE addresses doctoral students and newly graduated doctoral students from the areas of educational science, psychology and subject didactics and related disciplines dealing with research in teaching and learning. The conference will offer participants an opportunity to present and discuss their research in an international context. Participants will moreover receive comprehensive "review-process feedback" from the scientific community and they can also train how to write reviews. "Professional development courses" on research methodology and academic skills will be offered for their further qualification. The young researchers can send in their contributions, for instance paper or poster presentations, until November 27, 2009.
