Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Wahlster, Professor für Informatik an der Universität des Saarlandes und Vorsitzender der Geschäftsleitung des Deutschen Forschungszentrums für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) in Saarbrücken, wurde als einziger deutscher Informatiker von der französischen Regierung und dem Präsidenten des Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA), Bernard Larrouturou, für 4 Jahre in das höchste internationale Beratungs- und Evaluierungsgremium (VC) von INRIA berufen. INRIA ist das nationale französische Institut für Informatikforschung. Kollegen in diesem höchsten Beirat von INRIA sind: David Farber (University of Pennsylvania, USA), Tony Hoare (Microsoft, Cambridge, UK), Jeff Ullman (Stanford University, USA).
