Der Bayerische Forschungsverbund "Erhöhte UV-Strahlung in Bayern - Folgen und Maßnahmen" (BayForUV) hält von Mittwoch bis Freitag, 10. bis 12. Oktober, im Tagungshaus Benediktushöhe in Retzbach-Zellingen bei Würzburg sein zweites Symposium ab. Tagungssprache ist Englisch.
Unter dem Motto "UV Research for Man and Environment" (UV-Forschung für Mensch und Umwelt) werden Ergebnisse des vor zwei Jahren gegründeten Forschungsverbunds vorgestellt. Außerdem werden Gastredner über ihre Arbeiten auf dem Gebiet der UV-Forschung berichten.
Die Themen reichen von der (richtigen) Messung bis zur Prognose von solarer UV-Strahlung. Außerdem diskutieren Dermatologen, Pflanzenphysiologen, Ökologen, Umweltchemiker und Meteorologen über die Wirkungen von UV-Strahlung auf die menschliche Haut, auf Pflanzen und auf die Umwelt.
Die Geschäftsstelle des Forschungsverbundes befindet sich an der Universität Würzburg; sein Sprecher ist der Würzburger Pflanzenwissenschaftler Prof. Dr. Markus Riederer.
