Am 1. November 2001 löst die Leitende Regierungsdirektorin Eva Regenscheidt-Spies die bisherige Generalsekretärin der Bayerischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, Monika Stoermer, ab. Monika Stoermer tritt nach 30-jähriger Tätigkeit als Syndika und Generalsekretärin der Gelehrtengesellschaft und außeruniversitären Forschungseinrichtung in den Ruhestand. Eva Regenscheidt-Spies war bisher Hauptabteilungsleiterin und stellvertretende Kanzlerin an der Ludwigs-Maximilians-Universität München.
