EMBC met EMBO in Heidelberg Germany

EMBO - European Molecular Biology Organization

    The European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC) best known as the intergovernmental organization that supports the activities of EMBO, decided at a meeting held in Heidelberg, on 26th and 27th of November, 2001:

    1. That the new Secretary General of the EMBC will be Frank Gannon, (who will retain his position as Executive Director of EMBO).

    2. That the EMBC should actively seek from Germany a Headquarters/Site agreement to reflect its growing importance and level of activity.

    This meeting also marked the first occasion when the delegates discussed the future actions that the EMBC may undertake in the context of a Prolongation of the Agreement of the EMBC. Discussions on this will continue at a national and intergovernmental level over the next year.
