Jena (11.12.01) Der Physiker Prof. Dr. Thomas Henning, Leiter des Astrophysikalischen Instituts und der Sternwarte der Uni Jena, wird neuer Direktor des Max-Planck-Instituts für Astronomie in Heidelberg. Gleichzeitig wurde er zum wissenschaftlichen Mitglied der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft (MPG) gewählt. Prof. Henning ist als Experte für die Physik der interstellaren Materie und der Sternentstehung weltweit anerkannt. Er wird seine Arbeit in Heidelberg am 1. Juni 2002 aufnehmen, bleibt aber weiterhin Professor an der Physikalisch-Astronomischen Fakultät der Uni Jena.
