Professor Dr. Roland Schopf im Amt bestätigt
Am Mittwoch dieser Woche wählte die Wahlversammlung der Fachhochschule Fulda Professor Dr. Roland Schopf mit 21 Stimmen im ersten Wahlgang zum neuen Präsidenten. Zur erfolgreichen Wahl waren mindestens 18 Stimmen erforderlich.
Schopf, der alte und neue Präsident, war 1998 zum Rektor der FH Fulda gewählt worden und wurde im Zuge des neuen Hochschulgesetzes 1999 zum Präsidenten ernannt.
Sein Gegenkandidat, Professor Dr. Arno Basedow, Ressortleiter Forschung und Patente des Pharmazietechnik Unternehmens Lohmann GmbH & Co KG in Neuwied, war vom Senat nicht zur Wahl vorgeschlagen worden.
Professor Dr. Roland Schopf, Jahrgang 1941, war Dekan des Fachbereichs Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften und bereits von 1978 bis 1980 Prorektor der Fachhochschule Fulda sowie von 1985 bis 1993 Stadtverordneter in Fulda. Schopf promovierte nach einem Studium der Germanistik und der politischen Wissenschaften an der Universität Frankfurt.
Die Wahlversammlung besteht aus den stimmberechtigten Mitgliedern des Senats und ihren Stellvertreterinnen und Stellvertretern. Ihr gehören 34 Mitglieder an und zwar: 18 Professorinnen/Professoren, 10 Studierende, 2 wissenschaftliche sowie 4 administrativ-technische Mitglieder. Die Amtszeit, die am 1. September beginnt, dauert sechs Jahre.
