Der Rektor der TU Clausthal, Professor Dr. Ernst Schaumann, verabschiedete, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Werner Heye, Institut für Werkstoffkunde und Werkstofftechnik.
Professor Heye promovierte 1967 an der TH Clausthal und wurde 1969 habilitiert. Die Venia legendi wurde ihm für das Fachgebiet der Metallkunde verliehen. Im Jahre 1971 wurde Dr.-Ing. habil. Werner Heye Professor und Abteilungsvorsteher und im Jahr 1978 Universitätsprofessor.
