In 2012, IMB will hold its first International Summer School / Cooperation with Johannes Gutenberg University and University Medical Center Mainz / 12 extraordinarily talented students from around the world get the opportunity to hear about the latest developments in the fields of Gene Regulation, Epigenetics and DNA Damage Response and to work on exciting research projects.
The Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB) has announced a new International Summer School (ISS) in the Life Sciences. The ISS will take place from 16th July to 24th August 2012 and will provide outstanding and enthusiastic undergraduate, Master’s and PhD students the opportunity to undertake exciting research projects. Furthermore, they will receive lectures and hands on training from a variety of expert teachers. These include leading scientists in molecular biology, both from the institutes taking part in the ISS and from external speakers based around Europe, as well as members of IMB’s extensive Core Facilities.
The ISS will provide students with interdisciplinary training in a clearly defined set of topics: epigenetics, gene regulation, DNA repair, functional morphology of the nucleus, as well as bioinformatics and systems biology approaches to research in these areas. These topics are all of increasing importance to biomedical research, and the skills students will gain by participating in the ISS will provide the ideal stepping stone to a successful career in research.
