Invitation of the TU Berlin and the Scientific Advisory Council of the Skolkovo Foundation
Skolkovo Innovation Center to cooperate with Institutions in Berlin / Invitation to the press conference at the TU Berlin
Until 2015 a modern Centre for Research and Development will be completed just outside the gates of Moscow. „Skolkovo“ is the name of the new Science City and will serve as a link between fundamental and application-oriented research. In an exemplary way it aims to combine science, teaching, research, economy and technical education. The Russian government and companies want to invest in the cluster of innovation in order to create ideal conditions for about 20.000 highly qualified scientists and engineers for the research and development of high-tech products that can compete on the world market.
A „Scientific Advisory Council“ (SAC) of high-level experts consults the „Skolkovo Foundation“. Its Co-Chairmen are Nobel Prize Winners Roger Kornberg (Chemistry) from the U.S. (Stanford) and Zhores I. Alferov (Physics) from Russia.
Members of the Council will meet on March 2nd, 2012 for the first time outside of Russia and will visit the German capital. They want to establish contact with the TU Berlin, with the science and technology park in Adlershof and with the Centre for Healthcare in Berlin-Buch. Members of the Advisory Council want to get acquainted with structures at universities and at non-university institutions and sign letters of intend about a future cooperation with the partners.
