Der Senat der Universität des Saarlandes hat sich heute mit deutlicher Mehrheit für eine zweite Amtszeit von Professor Volker Linneweber als Präsident der Saar-Universität ausgesprochen.
Mit zwölf Ja-Stimmen, vier Nein-Stimmen und einer Enthaltung wählten die 17 Senatorinnen und Senatoren im ersten Wahlgang den bisherigen Amtsinhaber Volker Linneweber.
Laut Universitätsgesetz wird der Universitätspräsident in getrennten Wahlgängen durch Senat und Universitätsrat gewählt. Die Wahl des Universitätsrats ist für den 18. April geplant.
