Auf der 35. Veranstaltung der internationalen Tagungsreihe "International Conferences on Coordination Chemistry", die unlängst in Heidelberg stattfand, erhielt der Bielefelder Chemiker Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Achim Müller den international renommierten Sir-Geoffrey-Wilkinson-Preis für seine hervorragenden Forschungsbeiträge auf dem Gebiet der Anorganischen Chemie. So ist Müller erst kürzlich mit dem so genannten "Nano-Igel" die Synthese eines Clusters gelungen, der 368 Molybdän-Atome, insgesamt aber fast zweitausend Atome enthält. Der Preis wurde 1989 von Elesvier Science gestiftet und gilt als die höchste Auszeichnung für Anorganiker.
