Die Entwicklung intelligenter Städte ist weltweit eines der wichtigen Themen für Politik, Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft. China hat die intelligente Stadtentwicklung zur nationalen Aufgabe erklärt, und eine Reihe von Initiativen gestartet – nicht nur in den Großstädten, sondern auch in den neuen Zentren, wie Wuxi und Ningbo. Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien spielen für diese Entwicklungen eine zentrale Rolle.
