Wahl am Mittwoch: Dr. Dr. h.c. Helmut Ruppert ist einziger Kandidat zur Wahl des nächsten Präsidenten
Der amtierenden Präsident, der Inhaber des Lehrstuhls Didaktik der Geographie, Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Helmut Ruppert (62), ist nach der Vorschlagsliste des Senats einziger Kandidat zur Wahl des nächsten Präsidenten. Den wählt am kommenden Mittwoch (29. Januar 2003, 17 Uhr, Hörsaal H 32, Gebäudeteil B der Fakultät für Angewandte Naturwissenschaften/FAN) in öffentlicher Sitzung der Erweiterte Senat der Universität. Insgesamt hat die Bayreuther Universität seit dem Amtsantritt ihres Gründungspräsidenten Professor E.h. Dr. Dr. h.c. Klaus Dieter Wolff im Oktober 1973 erst drei Persönlichkeiten an Ihrer Spitze gesehen: Wolff selber, der 1978 erster gewählter Präsident der Universität wurde, danach zwischen 1991 und 1997 der Physiker Professor Dr. Helmut Büttner und anschließend und noch bis zum Ende des Sommersemesters 2003 Professor Ruppert.
