Professor Tokarski im Beirat des Deutschen Olympischen Instituts
Der Rektor der Deutschen Sporthochschule Köln, Prof. Dr. Walter Tokarski, wurde auf der Sitzung des NOK-Präsidiums am 24. Januar 2003 als Vertreter des NOK in den Beirat des Deutschen Olympischen Instituts berufen.
1989 beschloss die Mitgliederversammlung des Nationalen Olympischen Komitees offiziell die Einrichtung eines Deutschen Olympischen Instituts in Berlin, die feierliche Eröffnung fand am 24. Mai 1993 statt.
Neben dem NOK, dem Deutschen Sportbund, der Deutschen Olympischen Gesellschaft, der Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe und der Sporthochschule sind u.a. auch 28 Spitzenverbände und mehrere Landessportbünde Mitglieder des DOI. In den Institutsbeirat beruft das NOK bis zu 12 Persönlichkeiten des Öffentlichen Lebens.
