The system integration of bioanalytic chips is aimed at making them fit for work in a typical user environment (point of care, point of use). This concerns fluid supply for the chips, usually via microfluidic components, as well as temperature control and coupling to the electric, electrochemical or optical readout. Microfluidic solutions include sample pretreatment and has to ensure effective and reproduceable bulk transport of the analyte to the sensitive surface of the biochip.
The Miniaturised Systems Group at the Fraunhofer-Institute for Biomedical Engineering (IBMT) designs and builds prototype systems, using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Precision Mechanics and Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM), Microsystems Technology (especially replica methods for disposable microfluidic systems made from plastics), and Microassembly. The production chain is completed by measurement instrumentation and test engineering.
Recent examples include microfluidics adaptors and measuring cells for DNA-Array-Scanners, hormone chips and an analytic cartridge with integrated optoelectronic biochip on bioaffinity basis.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
