Auch zum Wintersemester 2003/2004 können insbesondere Berufstätige und Auszubildende an der Fachhochschule Dortmund und der Fachhochschule Köln, Abteilung Gummersbach, ein Verbundstudium der Wirtschaftsinformatik aufnehmen.
Diese spezielle Studienform umfasst einen Fernstudienanteil von etwa 70 Prozent sowie regelmäßige Präsenzveranstaltungen an den Hochschulen (ca. 8 Samstage pro Semester). Die Regelstudienzeit inklusive Diplomarbeit beträgt fünf Jahre.
