Deutschland ist ein Einwanderungsland. Wie viele – vor allem junge – Flüchtlinge jedes Jahr einreisen, wie sie leben, und mit welchen Problemen sie zu kämpfen haben, ist dennoch kaum erforscht. In der englischsprachigen DJI Impulse Ausgabe 2014 schreiben Forscherinnen und Forscher unter anderem über die deutsche Asylpolitik, den Kinderschutz und den Stellenwert der Menschenrechte sowie über die Herausforderungen der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe im Umgang mit jungen Flüchtlingen. Ein Lexikon am Ende der Ausgabe erklärt der internationalen Leserschaft die wichtigsten deutschen Begriffe dieses Themenfelds.
