Der Präsidiumsarbeitskreis ‚Datenschutz und IT-Sicherheit' der Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI) bedauert die heutige Entscheidung des Deutschen Bundestags zur Vorratsdatenspeicherung, mit der alle Verkehrsdaten anlasslos gespeichert werden sollen.
Das Bundesverfassungsgericht hat bereits 2010 festgestellt, dass die Aussagekraft aller Verkehrsdaten (u.a. Aufenthaltsort, Surfverhalten, Kommunikationspartner, Social Media, Inhalte von SMS usw.) zu weitreichend ist und tiefe Einblicke in die Privatsphäre ermöglicht. Auch der EuGH hat schon 2014 die Grundrechtswidrigkeit der Richtlinie zur Vorratsdatenspeicherung und damit deren Nichtigkeit festgestellt.
