Ambitious young engineers holding a Bachelor’s degree can apply for the double degree master’s program in technology management and engineering at the NIT Northern Institute of Technology Management and Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) until March 31, 2016. The program enables students to acquire a deeper grasp of their technical knowledge and to increase it by adding management and leadership competences. On successful completion of the course the TUHH will award both of the master’s degrees.
At the NIT in Hamburg, engineers from around the world learn how to perform management tasks responsibly. 35 high potentials, including scholarship holders funded by companies and foundations, complete the course every year. The next class gets under way in October 2016. Depending on their career experience students will graduate with either an MA or an MBA. In parallel and in keeping with their interests and previous education they will study at the TUHH for an MSc in, say, mechatronics, informatics engineering, mechanical engineering, information and communication systems, or chemical and bioprocess engineering.
“The Double Degree Program has helped me to add valuable management tools to my already acquired technical knowledge”, says Andrés Felipe Bolaños Franco from Colombia, who studies at the TUHH and the NIT. “Moreover, the internationality not only of the classmates but also of the professors enhances constantly my intercultural and communication skills.” These soft skills are in especially brisk demand at companies with international interests.
Especially outstanding students can apply for a scholarship to cover the cost of studying at the NIT. This year, scholarships are being awarded by, inter alia, the following companies: Hamburg Airport, Procter & Gamble, Aurubis, ArcelorMittal, NXP Semiconductors and Jungheinrich. Scholarships are subject to an extremely good BSc and, inter alia, the proposed MSc program along with references and letters of motivation.
The NIT Admissions Office is delighted to inform prospective students about the program content, admission, schedules, and funding of the master’s program in technology management. In addition to a first degree in engineering or science, the requirements include proof of a high level of proficiency in English.
