Im Rahmen des Staatsbesuchs der litauischen Regierung besuchte Marius Skarupskas, der Vizeminister für Wirtschaft der Republik Litauen, das Institut für Innovation und Technik (iit) in der VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH (VDI/VDE-IT) am Steinplatz in Berlin.
Begleitet wurde der Minister von Mitgliedern der litauischen Botschaft und Vertretern des akademischen Innovationstransfers.
Begrüßt wurde die Delegation vom Geschäftsführer der VDI/VDE-IT, Dr. Werner Wilke, sowie dem Leiter des iit, Prof. Dr. Volker Wittpahl. Zusammen mit dem Gründungsdirektor des iit, PD Dr. Ernst A. Hartmann, und dem Direktor des European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA), Helmut Kergel, diskutierte die Delegation das deutsche und das litauische Innovationssystem.
Eine Fortsetzung des Dialogs ist für Mai in Vilnius geplant, wo Prof. Dr. Wittpahl im Rahmen einer Konferenz zum Thema „Industrie 4.0“ eingeladen ist.
