Robot Demonstration to Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan at the German Jordanian University
The German Jordanian University (GJU) in Amman-Jordan was recently honored by a visit of Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan. During her visit, Her Majesty reviewed several laboratories and student projects, including a robotics display provided by the School of Applied Technical Sciences and the GJU Robotics Club. Her Majesty showed special interest in the KUKA industrial robot demonstrated by Dr. Nathir Rawashdeh and his students, who are working on the KUKA as part of their bachelor graduation project in mechatronics engineering.
The robot was purchased through the Tempus project "JIM2L" lead by Hochschule Bochum, the Head of the GJU Network of German exchange partner universities for Mechatronics. Dr. Nathir Rawashdeh is the mechatronics engineering academic Exchange Coordinator at GJU, and a close friend of Hochschule Bochum’s Prof. Dr. Rolf Biesenbach, the Tempus project leader. Dr. Rawashdeh has ordered the KUKA robot purchase based on his training experience at the robotics laboratory at the faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of Hochschule Bochum and is currently advising the second student mechatronics bachelor graduation project on the KUKA.
