68. Mosbacher Kolloquium: Cell Organelles - Origin, Dynamics and Communication

Dr. Anke Lischeid Pressestelle
Gesellschaft für Biochemie und Molekularbiologie e.V.

The traditional spring meetings of the German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM e.V.) are held annually in the picturesque town of Mosbach to promote the exchange of scientific ideas and to foster the education of young scientists.
The topic of the 68th meeting is "Cell Organelles - Origin, Dynamics and Communication".
The conference will take place from March 30th to April 1st, 2017. Scientific organizers are Chris Meisinger (Freiburg), Jan Riemer (Köln) and Blanche Schwappach (Göttingen).

Cell organelles segregate metabolic pathways from each other and thus enable cellular use of competing or uncompatible reactions as physiologically appropriate. Subcellular compartmentalization is a classical topic in molecular cell biology, which is currently undergoing exciting developments, based on methodological as well as conceptual changes.

At the meeting, emerging new concepts of organellar biology will be discussed by leading experts covering topics such as communication between organelles, fine-tuning of organellar morphology and motility, compensation of loss in organellar function by other organelles, organellar contact sites, and adaption of organellar identity to different physiological or pathohysiological states.

GBM will also award the Feodor Lynen medal to Jodi Nunnari (Davis, USA) and the Eduard Buchner Prize to Manu Hegde (Cambridge, UK).
Young researchers will have the opportunity to meet the awardees in GBM’s traditional and very popular “Meet the Prof” sessions.

For registration, abstract submission and detailed information about the program, the speakers and the venue, please visit the conference website http://www.mosbacher-kolloquium.org.

    Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
