Do your research in Berlin in future! Stiftung Charité is inviting scientists from abroad to BIH

Dr. André Lottmann Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit
Stiftung Charité

Are you currently working as a life scientist abroad or have only been in Germany for a short time? Would you like to take part in medical research in Berlin, and do you have an interesting research idea? Then come to the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH) and its partners at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and at Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine now! Stiftung Charité is announcing two funding programs for international scientists – tailored to your respective career situation.

1. EINSTEIN BIH VISITING FELLOWS
(in cooperation with Einstein Foundation Berlin)

• top-level scientists who remain employed by their home institutions abroad but simultaneously establish a working group in Berlin and are regularly available there
• up to 450,000 euro for three years (can be extended by a further two years) for fellow expenses and for personnel and material resources to establish the working group

2. HUMBOLDT RESEARCH FELLOWS AT BIH
(in cooperation with Alexander von Humboldt Foundation)

• established or younger exceptionally qualified scientists from abroad (or already having been in Germany for a maximum of six months) who wish to work on a life science research project in Berlin
• option for EXPERIENCED SCIENTISTS (4 to 12 years after having completed a PhD): 3,150 euro a month for 6 to 18 months (can be split up) OR
• option for POSTDOCTORAL SCIENTISTS (up to 4 years after having completed a PhD): 2,650 euro a month for 6 to 24 months
• several additional benefits and integration in the prestigious Humboldt Network
• significantly better prospects for the promotion of positively reviewed applications than with the subject and institution independent Humboldt Research Fellowships

Plan your research stay now together with an academic host at BIH, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin or Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine. Applications have to be submitted by you (Humboldt Research Fellowships at BIH) or your host (Einstein BIH Visiting Fellows) ** by January 15, 2017 at the latest **.
