TOTAL E-QUALITY award ceremony in Nuremberg

IAMO was honored with the TOTAL E-QUALITY award for gender equality at an official ceremony on 9 November 2016 in Nuremberg, Germany. The institute received the award for the second time in a row in recognition of its successful and lasting commitment to equal career opportunities for women and men. The award highlights IAMO as an attractive employer that places high value on the motivation and commitment of its employees.

TOTAL E-QUALITY stands for Total Quality Management (TQM) with gender as an additional component (equality). “The management of the organizations and associations who have won this award today show that they have understood that greater success can be achieved through deeply ingrained commitment to equal opportunity and diversity. They are the ones leading the way in our society,” chair of TOTAL E-QUALITY, Germany, Eva Maria Roer, stated during the award ceremony. This year, IAMO was one of 58 organizations from the private sector, science, and administration, including associations, to be honored by the award.

The award confirms the institute’s successful gender equality policy. In addition to providing equal career opportunities in regard to talents, capabilities and expertise of both genders, the institute places special emphasis on ensuring and promoting the balance of work and family life. Further commitment to this issue is also reflected in the areas of human resources management, career advancement and the promotion of junior researchers, as well as in the establishment of the Central Germany Dual Career Network. IAMO has had equal opportunities officers since 2012.

The TOTAL E-QUALITY award signifies IAMO’s individual commitment to establishing and firmly embedding equal opportunity measures into its daily practices, without legal requirement. IAMO applied for the award and proved in countless ways that equal opportunities are an important part of its human resources policies. The TOTAL E-QUALITY award is presented for three years.

The outcomes of our work are used to derive and analyze strategies and options for enterprises, agricultural markets and politics. Since its founding in 1994, IAMO has been part of the Leibniz Association, a German community of independent research institutes.
