Design and Operation of Preparative and Production Scale Chromatographic Processes
October 28th - 30th, 1998, Dortmund (Germany)
Chromatographic separation processes can be useful for all separations of value products which are difficult to obtain in pure form. However, it is necessary to apply sophisticated simulation techniques in order to design chromatographic procedures suitable for industrial applications.
This course is intended for engineers and scientists with a basic knowledge of adsorption and chromatography. The participants should gain detailed knowledge of the application ranges and constraints of chromatographic separations. One central topic are the new methods of simulation and design of discontinuous and continuous separation processes. The course consists of lectures, given by experts from industry and research institutes, and of practical experiments with simulation systems and practical batch and SMB-chromatographic experiments. The course will be held in English.
European Course on Carbon Materials
December 3rd - 4th, 1998, Frankfurt/Main (Germany)
This course is designed to give scientists and engineers, but also students, a comprehensive overview on the manifold applications of carbon materials in industry and technology. Newcomers may enhance, experts refresh their knowledge on the present state of industrial development, processing, manufacturing and application of carbonaceous materials. The range of topics includes resources and importance of carbon, its raw materials and precursors and the technical, economical and environmental aspects as well as basic reactions and fundamental conversion processes. Carbon and graphite in electrochemistry, carbonaceous materials as adsorbents, molecular sieves and catalyst supports, carbon in nuclear technology and in surface and coating technologies will be discussed. Moreover, a survey of analytical methods and quality management in carbon industry will be given. Discussions round off the material presented in lecture form. The course will be held in English.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
