The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is attending the European Career Fair of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for the first time on 25 February in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. BAM is introducing itself as a departmental research institution of the German government at the shared German stand to promote Germany as a research location.
"We are very pleased that BAM will be present at the largest European career fair in the US", said BAM President Prof. Dr. Ulrich Panne. "Germany needs innovative minds in science and BAM offers attractive and long-term career prospects".
On February 26, 2017, BAM will also be participating in the "Research in Germany" workshop. Together with other selected companies and research facilities, BAM will provide consulting services for post-docs and information on entry and career options at BAM. The workshop is organised by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research within the "Research in Germany – Land of Ideas" campaign.
The MIT European Career Fair is the largest European career fair in the US. It offers information for highly qualified graduates from top-ranking US universities such as MIT, Yale and Harvard about career prospects in Germany and Europe.

As a BMWi departmental research institute, BAM performs research, testing and offers advisory support to protect people, the environment and material goods. Its activity in the fields of materials science, materials engineering and chemistry is focussed on the technical safety of products and processes.
