Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM)

Berlin, 08.05.2017. The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) will be present at the "I, Scientist – The conference on gender, career paths and networking" in the Berlin Free University from 12 to 14 May 2017. BAM will have an information stand at the Carrier's Show where it will advise women scientists on career paths in BAM.

"To remain competitive, departmental research institutes like BAM need young women scientists", says BAM President Prof. Dr. Ulrich Panne. "At BAM, women researchers can experience excellent research conditions with state-of-the-art measuring technologies and test equipment, as well as a flexible work environment."

BAM offers a wide range of career opportunities to young women scientists. This allows them to work in over 60 different disciplines – from analytical chemistry, through fibre optic sensors to materials engineering. BAM also supports junior professorships and young women researchers can benefit from BAM’s networks with industrial research partners and facilities.

    About „I, Scientist“

"I, Scientist" wants to create a forum for young scientists, provide information about career opportunities and establish contacts. Specialist presentations on gender studies as well as reports from personal experience and workshops are intended to draw attention to the prejudice against women and men in the professional world and to outline solutions. The aim of the conference is to eliminate existing problems with both sexes participating and to strengthen the women’s career path in science.
