Bayreuth (UBT). Zum am 1. Oktober beginnenden Wintersemesters 2003/2004 wird die Universität Bayreuth über vier neue Professoren verfügen, nachdem Präsident Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. Helmut Ruppert heute zwei von ihnen die Ernennungsurkunde zum 1. Oktober überreichte. Es handelt sich um Professor Dr. Matthias Ballauff , der zuvor an der Universität Karlsruhe arbeitete und als Nachfolger von Professor Dr. Heinz Hoffmann den wieder zu besetzenden -Lehrstuhl Physikalische Chemie I einnehmen wird, sowie um Professor Dr. Matthias Ullmann, der vom Interdisziplinären Zentrum der Universität Heidelberg nach Bayreuth wechselt auf die neue Professur für Bioinformatik/Strukturbiologie. Bereits seit September ist Professor Dr. Joseph Breu in Bayreuth, der zuvor an der Universität Regensburg arbeitete und als Nachfolger von Professor Dr. Harald Hillebrecht Inhaber des Lehrstuhl Anorganische Chemie I ist. Und schließlich wird Professor Dr. Stefan Pfeiffer die Nachfolge des im Sommer verstorbenen Lehrstuhlinhabers für Hydrologie, Professor Dr. Reimer Herrmann, antreten. Pfeiffer, jetzt Professor an der TH Aachen, war Mitarbeiter Professor Herrmanns und leitete mehrerer Jahre die Limnologische Forschungsstation.
