Zum 80. Geburtstag des Bayreuther Mathematik-Didaktikers Professor em. Dr. Dr. h.c. Herbert Zeitler veranstalten die Bayreuther Mathematiker am 24. Oktober ein Festkolloquium.
Bayreuth (UBT). Eigentlich ist Herbert Zeitler einer, der es weder lassen kann noch will - die Mathematik und speziell die Mathematikdidaktik nämlich, die er früher als Vorgänger von Professor Dr. Peter Baptist auf dem entsprechenden Bayreuther Lehrstuhl vertreten hat.
Nun wird der Tirschenreuther 80 Jahre alt und seine Fakultät, die für Mathematik und Physik, gibt ihm die Ehre in Form eines Festkolloquiums am kommenden Freitag (24. Oktober, ab 16.00 Uhr, Hörsaal H 18, Gebäude NW II).
Nach der Begrüßung durch Dekan Professor Dr. Wolfgang Müller und Grußworten durch Vizepräsidentin Professorin Dr. Wiebke Putz-Osterloh sowie des Leiters der Gymnasialabteilung des Bayerischen Staatsministeriums für Unterricht und Kultus, Ministerialdirigent Dr. Peter Müller, stehen zwei Festvorträge an:
Um 16.30 Uhr spricht Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Walter Benz (Hamburg) über das Thema "Hyperbolische Geometrie dimensionsfrei" und eine Stunde später ist es Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Rudolf Fritsch (München) mit seinem Beitrag "Von Apollonios aus dynamisch Mathematik entdecken".
