BAM at the Hannover Messe: Quality assessment using computed tomography

M.A., LL.M./LL.B. Venio Quinque Unternehmenskommunikation
Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM)

Additively manufactured components and products must be safe and reliable. As the technology is still relatively new, there is a lack of knowledge with regard to assessing the quality of the parts. A reliable quality assessment is a necessary prerequisite for broad application of additive manufacturing in practice. This is especially important for safety-relevant parts for industrial applications or for medical technology.

The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is utilising its expertise in non-destructive testing to address these issues. At the Hannover Messe 2019, BAM experts will explain what role computed tomography plays in the quality assessment of additively manufactured parts: www.bam.de/am-qualityassessment

More information about BAM at the Hannover Messe 2019 can be found at www.bam.de/hannovermesse-en

The publication "Additive Manufacturing at BAM – We Focus on Safety" provides an overview of the wide range of our research in this area: www.bam.de/am-brochure

Where to find BAM at the Hannover Messe 2019

The main theme of BAM’s exhibition this year is additive manufacturing. Under the slogan "We add Safety to Additive Manufacturing” visitors will be able to gain insight into BAM's research in this area. BAM is also presenting its commitment to promoting spin-offs (stand C51 in the Research & Technology area in hall 2).

BAM will provide information on the quality assurance of offshore wind turbines in the same hall at the BMWi trade fair stand (hall 2, stand C28).

    Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
