Bayreuth (UBT). Dr. Nikolay Chernykh aus Moskau hält sich im November bis Dezember am Lehrstuhl Mikrobiologie (Prof. Dr. Ortwin Meyer) der Universität Bayreuth auf. Herr Chernykh ist am Institut für Mikrobiologie der russischen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Moskau beheimatet. Er war bereits im Juni am Lehrstuhl Mikrobiologie. Dr. Chernykh arbeitet weiterhin an der Untersuchung der Transkription bei dem strikt anaeroben thermophilen hydrogenogenen Bakterium Carboxydothermus hydrogenoformans unter verschiedenen Induktionsbedingungen. Dazu wird in der Zellanzucht der Mikrobiologie Zellmasse produziert, um daraus die entsprechenden Botenribonukleinsäuren (mRNAs) zu isolieren und durch Hybridisierung zu charakterisieren. Der Aufenthalt in Bayreuth wird Herrn Chernykh durch einen NATO-Travel Grant ermöglicht.
