Whether flow batteries, fuel cells, electrolysis, electrosynthesis or electrodialysis cells – many electrochemical reactors feature similar cell concepts and fluid flow systems. The aim of the "E3C – Electrochemical Cell Concepts Colloquium" on May 14, 2020 is to identify commonalities and potential combinations of designs of different cell types. The event takes place completely online. Organizer is the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology UMSICHT.
"The colloquium is primarily intended to promote the interdisciplinary transfer of knowledge", emphasizes organizer Jan Girschik of Fraunhofer UMSICHT. "Scientists from different fields of application can combine their expertise so that the technologies can benefit from each other's developments and innovations, in order to advance the overall state of research.”
Among the speakers are the two keynote speakers Prof. Dr. Edward Roberts from the University of Calgary and Prof. Dr. Matthias Wessling from the RWTH Aachen University. Further contributions will be made by the Institute for Microsystems Technology IMTEK, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the DECHEMA Research Institute, the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, the Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg, the Clausthal University of Technology, ZBT GmbH and the Fraunhofer Institutes IGB and UMSICHT.
The lectures are divided into three sessions: The focus of "Cell design and fluid flow" is on cell concepts and innovative flow control of different types of reactors. The session "Functional components" deals, inter alia, with membranes and porous electrodes, while the session "Stack design, testing and sealing technology" is primarily concerned with the bipolar design of electrochemical reactors. Due to the international orientation of the event, the language of presentation will be English.
The "E3C – Electrochemical Cell Concepts Colloquium" will take place as an online conference on May, 14 from 9 am to 5 pm. The participation fee is 40 Euro. A small contingent of free tickets is available for students. If this is exhausted, the reduced participation fee is 15 euros.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
