Peter Gemmar hat sein Amt als Vizepräsident der Fachhochschule Trier angetreten. Er wurde am 28. Januar vom Senat der Fachhochschule mit großer Mehrheit (17 von 18 Stimmen) gewählt.
Prof. Dr. rer.nat. Dipl.-Ing. Peter Gemmar ist Professor für Technische Informatik, Bildverarbeitung und Mustererkennung sowie Soft Computing im Fachbereich Design und Informatik im Fachbereich Design und Informatik an der FH Trier. Über zwei Wahlperioden war er als Dekan dieses Fachbereichs tätig. Gemmar ist außerdem geschäftsführender Leiter des In-Instituts für Innovative Informatikanwendungen (i3A) im Fachbereich Design und Informatik und leitet Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekten im Bereich Angewandte Fuzzy Systeme und Bildverarbeitung.
