Berlin International University of Applied Sciences (BI) joins Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy

Berlin, Germany, March 15, 2022 – Today, Berlin International University of Applied Sciences has joined the AWS Academy, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) program that provides higher education institutions with a ready-to-teach cloud computing curriculum. Cloud computing is becoming increasingly important as data is no longer stored locally but on a cloud. AWS is the most widely used cloud service provider among data scientist as a recent survey by Kaggel shows.

    Pursuing industry-recognized AWS Certifications

Working with AWS Academy, Berlin International will provide students the necessary knowledge to deal with large data sets on the cloud and use machine learning tools. The courses will be part of the BA degree programs in Digital Business & Management which equips students both with a state-of-the-art knowledge of management and data science. Beginning in Winter Semester 22/23, students can enroll in courses that will prepare them to pursue careers in the fast-growing cloud computing space and earn industry-recognized AWS Certifications.

    Ready-to-teach cloud computing curriculum

The AWS Academy curriculum is developed and maintained by AWS subject matter experts, ensuring that it reflects current services and up-to-date best practices. Courses are taught by AWS Academy-accredited educators who are trained by AWS to help students become proficient in AWS technology.
“We are proud to make the AWS Academy curriculum available to our students,” said Professor Florian Artinger, Head of Program, BA in Digital Business & Management. “There is a particular lack of employees that both understand the business side and the technical opportunities that machine learning and big data have to offer. Our degree program is uniquely designed to provide students with the necessary skills. Moreover, it is set in an intercultural environment with students from more than 90 different countries allowing for a learning opportunity that goes far beyond the classroom.”
