The Biosphere Reserves Institute (BRI) of the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) is hosting a research conference for the first time. The smallest university in Brandenburg presents itself as an international pacemaker to strengthen science in, for and with biosphere reserves.
From May 16th to 20th, 2022, international young scientists and managers of biosphere reserves will meet in Schorfheide (Brandenburg). This meeting is considered unique in the scientific community, as it shows how important the work and research in and about biosphere reserves is worldwide. International guests, among them Dr. Shamila Nair-Bedouelle, Deputy Director General for Natural Sciences of UNESCO, have confirmed their attendance and will be available for an interview.

The Biosphere Reserves Institute is a scientific institution of Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development. It was established in 2019 to promote education, research and training with a focus on the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme and the World Network of Biosphere Reserves as instruments of its implementation.
Building on the expertise of its co-founders, the Departments of Forest and Environment and Landscape Management and Nature Conservation, and in cooperation with its partners, the BRI seeks to become a center of competence for biosphere reserves worldwide.
