Make 2023 about communicating effectively! The TeamBaby web app, developed at Constructor University in Bremen, Germany, is designed to support parents in their resolution to communicate safely in the new year. The app is now available for free.
The new year often feels like starting a new chapter. We anticipate to exercise more, eat less takeout, or spend more time on our hobbies and recovery. Even starting a family or adding a new family member can be one of the resolutions. The possibilities are endless, however, putting them into action is often rather difficult. The right strategy can help, especially when welcoming a new family member.
A healthy pregnancy and safe birth are often tied to effective communication within a family but also with health care professionals. This means, we are more likely to have a positive pregnancy journey and ideal birth experience when we feel like we are being listened to, and are able to clearly communicate our wishes to those providing care – not only as parents but also as grandparents, friends and partners.
As part of a team, we experience the support of family, midwives, doctors and nurses. In order to communicate effectively within this team, the work group Health Psychology & Behavioral Medicine from Constructor University in Bremen, now provides their digital asset, the TeamBaby web app, for free. So, time to turn those resolutions into action!
The TeamBaby digital health tool provides training for parents-to-be and related persons on how to communicate well with each other and health care professionals. There are ten lessons full of tips and exercises on communicating and collaborating effectively. Topics range from properly conveying needs, over making sure every voice is heard, to making the most of the time with midwives and doctors.
About the Health Psychology Research Group:
