Auf der BioEurope 98 präsentieren sich vom 7. - 9. Dezember insgesamt rund 60 kleine und mittlere Biotech-Unternehmen als Partner für die große Industrie. Der überwiegende Teil der Companies kommt aus den USA angereist. Deutschland ist mit insgesamt 11 Unternehmen vertreten, davon 6 aus der Region Berlin-Brandenburg.
Ziel der Konferenz ist die Anbahnung von Kooperationen zwischen Biotechnologieunternehmen und der großen Pharmaindustrie.
Auf der BIO Europe kann sich keineswegs jeder in einem Kurzvortrag vorstellen. Die Zulassung erfolgte durch ein Auswahlkomitee der Veranstalter: der amerikanischen Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), der EBD-Group und der Unternehmensberatung Ernst & Young International.
