The Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH) in Mannheim/Germany stands for internationally known research and treatment concepts in psychiatry and psychotherapy, child and adolescent psychiatry, psychosomatics and addiction medicine. In 2025, the fiftieth year of its existence, the Institute presents the CIMH Award for Excellence in Mental Health Research for the first time. The CIMH Award is intended to honor an established researcher who has made an outstanding contribution to mental health research.
The CIMH Award is endowed with EUR 10,000. It will be presented as part of the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the CIMH in spring 2025. The award winner will give the opening lecture at the scientific symposium to mark the 50th anniversary.
“Thanks to new approaches, methods and technologies, neuropsychiatric research has made great progress in recent years. We expect this progress to continue to accelerate. The CIMH Award is intended to honor an outstanding body of research in this area", says Prof. Dr. Andreas Meyer-Lindenberg, Chairman of the Board and Director of the CIMH.
The CIMH Award is based on nominations. Nominations can be sent to Prof. Dr. Andreas Meyer-Lindenberg until September 15, 2024: cimh-award@zi-mannheim.de.
Nominations should outline the importance and exceptional achievements of the nominee in the relevant field of research and be accompanied with a current CV, a list of publications and of third-party funding. Self-nominations are not possible.
The Scientific Advisory Board of the CIMH will select the award winner. Further information can be found at www.cimh-award.de.
