H2MSE 2025: Advancing Hydrogen Integration in Materials Science and Engineering

Stefan Klein Kommunikation & Medien
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde e.V.

The inaugural Conference on Hydrogen in Materials Science and Engineering (H2MSE 2025) is scheduled for February 11-13, 2025, at the Rhein-Sieg-Forum in Siegburg/Bonn, Germany. This hybrid event aims to unite experts from academia and industry to address the multifaceted challenges and opportunities presented by hydrogen’s role in energy decarbonization.

Hydrogen is pivotal in transitioning towards sustainable energy systems, yet its interaction with materials—especially under high-pressure conditions—poses significant challenges, including hydrogen embrittlement. H2MSE 2025 seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among materials scientists, engineers, chemists, and physicists to develop innovative solutions in this domain.

The conference will cover a spectrum of critical topics, such as material testing under hydrogen influence, optimization of selective hydrogen analysis, spatially resolved methods for imaging hydrogen, hydrogen applications in industry with a focus on materials, hydrogen direct reduction, hydrogen combustion technologies, materials for hydrogen storage, development of hydrogen-resistant materials, hydrogen permeation studies, and simulation of hydrogen-material interactions.

Esteemed plenary speakers, including Prof. Dr. Reiner Kirchheim from the University of Göttingen and Associate Professor Motomichi Koyama from Tohoku University, will share their insights on hydrogen effects in chemomechanics and the design of hydrogen-resistant high-strength alloys, respectively.

H2MSE 2025 offers a comprehensive program featuring scientific presentations, workshops, and networking opportunities, all designed to advance the integration of hydrogen in materials science and engineering. Participants can attend in person or virtually, ensuring inclusive engagement across the global community.

    Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
    Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

    Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

    Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

    Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
