New Video on the WaterMan Project: Water Reuse for a Climate-Resilient Future

Moritz Lembke-Özer Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit
Kompetenzzentrum Wasser Berlin gGmbH (KWB)

Climate change poses significant challenges to water supply around the world. Heavy rainfall, droughts, and increasing water demand require innovative solutions. The WaterMan project showcases how these challenges can be addressed in a new video.

Climate change poses significant challenges to water supply around the world. Heavy rainfall, droughts, and increasing water demand require innovative solutions. The WaterMan project showcases how these challenges can be addressed in a new video.

WaterMan focuses on water reuse as a key measure for creating a climate-resilient water economy. One example is Berlin, where treated wastewater from municipal treatment plants could be further processed and reused for industrial and commercial purposes, street cleaning, park irrigation, or even agriculture. The project is developing strategies to establish water reuse as an integral part of sustainable water management.

The new video illustrates how local measures—such as those in Berlin—can be implemented and highlights WaterMan's international efforts. With 16 partners from six countries across the Baltic Sea region, the project aims to promote water reuse globally. The Kompetenzzentrum Wasser Berlin (KWB) is pivotal in sharing technical and practical knowledge from research and raising awareness about safe water reuse practices.

The project's goal is clear: to alleviate pressure on natural water resources and support the development of a climate-resilient water management system.

Watch the video to learn more about WaterMan’s vision and innovative approaches!
